Hi everyone. I adopted an 18yrd old pacer 2 years ago. She was nice and fat when I went to look at her. Got her back to the boarding stable, and a few days later noticed her belly move! Yup! In foal, and far along. I now have beautiful mama, and baby, who will be 2 in June!
So happy to have found this board!

Yes, she's a full STB. Was able to register her with Standardbred Canada. I will post pics in the stories thread.

Hello and welcome from Calgary! Nice to have you here! I like your user name! Assuming you're doing reiki for horses, are you doing this for a living?

Hi, yes I do Reiki For Horses for a living. Also on people and other animals. The baby was a shock. especially since we didn't know when she was going to foal! I slept at the barn for nearly a month! Then when I decided my marriage needed me at home, pop! Out comes the foal. lol I am not racing her. I know nothing about it. She is for sale though, I would hate for her to miss the opportunity, incase she loves it and would be good at it. If she doesn't sell, I will be backing her later this summer, very lightly.

As a 2 yr old she would need to be pushed for training and in order to race she needs the spirit.I would just leave her as is. I know the race business is a busy one but there is a lot of money to be invested and if she is to have a chance at racing both sire and dam should have shown at least something good on the track.
I think you should just sell her as a potential riding horse to avoid her falling into the wrong hands as a race horse .

Thanks MSA, After my time with her at the barn today, I must say I totally agree with you. She was in "a mood" and broke two sets of cross ties. One still had a plank attached! She definately has the spirit! But I would hate for her to fall into the wrong hands. I train with gentle but persistent hands, and if she had done that to the wrong person today, I'm sure she would have gotten quite a "scolding"!
She is a doll, but very high spirited! Maybe she'll make me a nice little jumper in 4 or so years!
