Hi, i'm new to this form my name is sue and i live in oshawa, my horse lives just outside of pontypool (just south of lindsay) I just purchased her 2 months ago. Her name is Prairie and she's 11 yrs old, her previous owner had her retired from racing and was trying to use her as a broodmare but apparently she wasn't very good at getting or staying pregnant. He kept her just as his pet and got her lightly started under saddle but she basically just spent 3 years being a horse, which is nice for her, but she isn't going all that well yet. (enter me!) I've gotten her a little further on but it's hard to accomplish anything in 3 feet of snow, and no indoor arena. sofar really the only thing i've been able to teach her is sidepass, turn on haunch/forehand, and ground tie. She is brilliant though and i'm sure when the nice weather gets here and i start really getting down to business she's gonna come along quickly. ;D

Welcome! I actually like the deep snow for training. Much better then mud and slows them down a good bit so you can work on steering and stopping with little fear of bolt and buck. But regardless spring will eventually come to all and we can really enjoy being horse people again

Sue I have 5 that I personally own - oops just sold one of my best mares so that leaves me with 4 - I also own 1 APHA registered bred and raised gelding and one soon to be palomino - white blanket POA pony gelding.

Not sure if you were asking me about the pic, but that is my old mare who passed away in the pic. I used to let her loose in the arena while I set up jumps, etc... and she would just follow me around. That's a pic of her following me
