Galway Gray is a 7yo gray stb
Astreos - Chippies Ruler by Laag he was bred to be a champion....but only made $1422.00 on the track. He bowed the right front tendon, twice, and they sent him to the auction. He was bought by a well meaning, non horsey person, that had no idea what to do with him. He found his way to Cannington Horse Rescue, where he stayed for 8 1/2 months, until we took him home.
He has become one of my best friends. He is so eager to please and willing to learn. It has taken some trial and error to get him almost up to the right weight. He is learning to bend. He trots more than paces and will canter when asked. He is still alittle unsure of strait aways, so he might switch to the pace, but only when cantering. He will go down the road - No Problem- but he does prefer that the garbage bags be in cans, not on the side of the road LOL. He LOVES treats and will check all of your pockets to make sure that he has not missed any. He will also turn his head around to his rider (me)after learning a new lesson for his treat.
Tractors do not bother him, but chickens terrify him, and he much prefers to stand behind someone, so that those VERY SCARY monsters cannot get to him - they are in their coop-. He has alittle buddy, Coupe de Ville, who is 1/2 standardbred and 1/2 welsh pony. Nobody had better pick on his buddy, or they have to deal with him.
As you can probably tell, I kind of like him (tic). We are currently located in Campbellville, if anyone wants to ride with us, we are always looking for a new stb friend
We are anxiously awaiting the OSAS shows, and look forward to seeing any and all of you there.
