Hi,
My mother is looking for a Standardbred Gelding, around 13 yrs old, broke to drive. We have been in contact with a rescue in Wisconsin, but it is very far from us. I was wondering if there was a STB rescue in Indiana or Illinois, or even Ohio you might know?
My mother has worked with STB for over 30 years, she was a farm manager for a race farm. She has two older STBs (27 & 26) and one (13yold) Gelding of mixed origin, (Palomino Buckskin Arabian)
If you have even a little info, I know there is a great track for STBs in Anderson, Indiana or if you know anyone in the area who would know of a organization I would appreciate it.
I know many Rescues are based in NY, Canada, and Kentucky so anyone you can think of, friend or contact would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Leigh Schinaia

*UPDATE* My mother found a great organization called New Vocations, and adopted a 13 yr old gelding with 323 starts and lifetime earning of $417,000 named "Gold Fever" he is a little "racy" and has some race track quirks to work out but so far an excellent addition to the herd.
