Hi there, I just noticed i had to modify this post so I will do my intro here!
I'm Sarah, I'm the creator of UHSC.
I have been a groom since 2000. I work for 3 years for one trainer, and then took some time off to have my son Paul, and now I'm back full time for another trainer.
i love every minute of it.
But, as a groom you fall in love with these horses and you treat them as they were your own. Then one day they're gone...it's tough, and you never really know where they end up. It's not often that you hear that they are retired on someones farm some where.
This is why I started UHSC, to help give these horses a chance at a new life. This way I can hope that some of the horses i have taken care of in the past, or are taking care of now, do not get sent straight the the bitter end of the slaughter house.
This is also the reason for the Placement program. So far I have placed 3 horses in homes, and it's very rewarding to know that I helped to get them into good home and get them that chance.
I have a retired STBD too! His name is Hillary's conquest, or BJ. He is a really nice looking horse and I hope to get him going this year. There's pictures up of him and his buddy chester all over the website. He's just so photogenic!
So that's my story! I'm so happy to see how well this forum is doing. You have no idea how much this club means to me, and I can't wait to see how big it gets in the future!
Thanks for coming guys!
