Hi everyone!
I'm Jenn, and I'm the volunteer coordinator for the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society (http://www.osas.ca/)
Here on message boards I prefer to just be "me" though, as I'm not comfortable being a voice of the organization save for things officially stated or generally known. For instance, I can tell you about the policies and adoption process, but if you want to know about specific horses or set up appointments I prefer to refer you to the program director and keep things through official channels.
That said, I do manage most of the activities of our wonderful and thankfully fairly large list of OSAS volunteers. They are amazing, and dedicate their time and skills to activities such as site inspections, fostering, training, fundraising, show crew, photography, trailering, and administrative work, to name a few capacities. If anyone is interested in volunteering, I would be happy to recruit you!
On the personal side, I have been blessed to have experiance with many standardbreds both off and on the track, and have had the pleasure of owning two. My beloved old mare, Bess, passed away last month (November) at the amazing age of 32 . She and I did anything there was to be done together. My current 19 year old standardbred mare, Marie, has only been with me 2 years, but she's also an amazing horse in her own right and a late in life saddle horse and trail horse. She was gifted to me when she was a barren 17 year old, and has been enjoying the life of a light riding hack horse ever since.
Both have photos on the site's pages as Miss Exemp (Bess) and Real Rhythm (Marie)
