Hi everyone,
Yes I am another newbie.
Ok well my name is Sams and I work full time as a Home Care Assistant but also run my own business full time which is called Open Mind Equine training. I am a qualified RI and horse trainer, specialising in remedial cases.
I own a 16yr old NZ SB called Challenge Kiwi (Kiwi). He stands at 15.1hh and is a dark bay gelding. I rescued Kiwi, he had just turned 10yrs. At the age of 9yrs he was deemed too old to race, even though he did do very well in his racing life, and he was beaten and abandoned in a field. I won't go into the in's and out's but I re-trained Kiwi and SJ'ing is now his forte. We compete up to 3'3'' and also do dressage, XC, Hunter Trials and have been hunting a few times. He is an absolute saint and I adore him. He is far from a novice ride, he is 16yrs going on 3 lol and due to his background he does have trust issues with other people but I love him to bits and that is all that matters ;D I am also a fan of bitless and barefoot, so this is how Kiwi is and he does brilliantly. I get so many funny looks at shows lol, not only I am riding an ex pacer but also bitless and he is barefoot... oh the shame lmao I get even better looks when we wipe the floor with everyone lol.
I do also currently own a 2yr old registered welsh section A called EMW Wolverton Dylan (Dylan), as well as my 3yr old golden Labrador called Taboo.
Look forward to chatting with you all
