Hello's from a STB family in NC

Hi everyone, I'm Vanessa.
I live in central NC, and I own Smokey, a 12 yr old Standie-Whom I keep on the property. I've only had him for 2 months, and he is my first Standardbred, so I'll have a ton of questions-Hope I don't get innoying He's also the first horse I've on on my property period, where I used to board. Ummm, I don't know what else to put really!! I guess...

I've ridden, Hunter/jumper, Western, Eventing, and trail. Right now I don't show, because we are working on retraining Smokey. He is a retired harness racing horse, then sold to an OK type of home, not really high end or anything. Then sold to me for very cheap because he's not trained for the bit apparently. I love him to pieces. NOTE: In the photo, I've had people confront me about the barbwire, and want to say that that was not taken while I owned him. I'll get better photos up asap.. Thanks.
