Fine-tune your skills!
Have you wondered what is expected in the classes at the horse shows? Well this is your chance to learn!
Three clinics are being planned to help you at Oxer Stables in Burlington.
April 3 will focus on Riding a Dressage Test. Morning presentation by Janet Zizian will include how to read a dressage test, how to prepare for riding a test, basic test
rules and how to earn more points when riding a test.. In the afternoon, riders will ride a test for our judge, June Turner. Each rider will have a chance to do their test,
receive suggestions from the judge on how to improve their performance and will ride the test again, hopefully incorporating the improvements!
April 16 Showmanship, Western and English Pleasure & Equitation In the morning, two clinicians –Shelley Higgins (English) & Joanne Milton (Western) will explain how to show your horse in halter and showmanship. After lunch, they will work with riders to explain ring procedure and what the judge is looking for in the under
saddle classes.
May 14 –Jumping Janet Zizian will help you to improve your performance over fences. Learn how to plan your ride, make the most of your warm up and how to school
your horse at home to improve his jumping and build horse and rider confidence. To ride in this clinic, you and your Standardbred should already be able to trot a full
course of cross rails and trot poles.
Cost for all clinics will be $25.00 per mounted participant or $10 to learn by watching ( all fees include lunch). Riding spaces and free stabling are limited-register early!
If you would like to ride your Standardbred in any of the clinics or need more info, please contact standardbredshowcase@live.ca or jzizian@gmail.com
Riders will be required to sign a waiver and must wear a suitable helmet and footwear with heel. Registration fee for riders payable in advance, others at door.
